I survived

I'm going back to work soon after being off for 13 months (maternity). My husband and I agreed to send my son to daycare before I go back to work for a couple days a week for a few hours. This way he can get use to the change and I can get most of the separation crying over with. Well today was the first day and was it ever hard, I spent the first thirty minutes not knowing what to do. Then I started to cry, once that passed I did house work. So, I survived but I'm not looking forward to the next day.

I did manage to find time to do these two cards, the one reminded me of my little guy.

I entered this card into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge and Paper Sundaes Challenge.

I entered this card into the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

We also celebrated my little guys first birthday last week. Its so hard to believe he is a year old. I included a few pictures of the big event.

What a Great Week!!

So I get home from a fun but very long Easter weekend. I decided after I got the baby to sleep that I needed to check all my blogs that I missed so much.

BOY OH BOY - did I ever get a surprise!!! Not only did I win some blog candy but I actually won something for the second time in my entire life (the other time I was four and it was a jar of jelly beans)!!! My husband thought something was wrong, I was screaming so loud, he came running. There on Scrappin’ Great Deals presents Scrappin’ Divas! was a picture of me, I had won the blog candy - I am so excited you have no idea! The best part, its one of my favorite stores - love them! I think I'm going to be on a very big high for the rest of the week because of this :)

I hope everyone had a great Easter Weekend - We did. It was our little guys first Easter and boy is he ever a cutie. We went on a Easter Hunt at Storybook Gardens and he knew right away how to pick up the egg and put it in the basket. He also knew that if it didn't make a rattling noise then it was no good - so he would throw it away. Not bad for a little guy who is 11 1/2 months old. He loved the animals and he tried out a slide for the first time and loved it.

We then had some friends over with their little girl who is three months older then Brewer. They had fun playing outside in the nice weather. You might have noticed that they have matching outfits on - yes we called each other and planned this.

We ended up also visiting Grandpa at the farm, another Easter Hunt in Sarina, Easter with my sister and brother in-law, Church in Kerwood for our nephew's confirmation and another Easter Hunt in Kerwood along with a birthday party. We had a very busy weekend but it was fun. When we got home we just played outside with Brewer. He got a golf set from the Easter Bunny and some bubbles.

I made a few cards, both are for people who are expecting. They don't know each other so I made them similar. Of course I use copic markers, still need some practice but I'm coming along.

I entered these cards into the Crazy 4 Callenges, The Pink Elephant, Paper Sundaes and The Creative Cottage Challenge.

The baby is up from his nap, so I have to go.

Where to people find the time???

Ok, I have an 11month old and I don't know how to find the time for myself (aka - scrapbooking) and do all the things that need to be done around the house. Sorry I need to vent. I've done a little bit of card making/scrapbooking but I really want to do more - it's just finding the time!

I've decided to pick a day each month and make it a "me day". Matt will have to watch Brewer and I can go off and do some crafts! I have almost gotten my scrapbook room organized and now we might have to move it to the basement. At least when we move it, it will be an easy move.

I did this cute little train album at Scrappin Great Deals. It was a very small class but I enjoyed myself.

I also made this card for my son's christening. I didn't do anything to elaborate because most of the people who will be receiving these cards would not appreciate it. More then likely these cards will be thrown out right away. You don't know how much it bugs me to put a lot of work (and money) into a card and then to find out somebody threw it out after they read it!!! I sometimes get a little worked up. The card is nothing fancy but its cute (or at least I think so). As you can tell I am not an expert on copic markers - Practice, Practice!

One other thing a had to share is my two page layout of my little guy at three months. Its simple but cute and not just the layout - he is adorable and I know I'm his mom but just look at him!!!!

Well, I have Easter to get ready for, a 60th Birthday party, 35th Anniversary Party, My Son's First Birthday and a 60th Anniversary. Somehow I have been volentold that I will be running these events or helping with them. I will keep trying to do posts on a more regular basis but don't be surprise if it doesn't happen. I'm able to do this one thanks to Baby Einstein.

Just in case I don't have a chance to do a post before Easter - Happy Easter to you and your families.

Sorry, its been awhile

Hello Everyone, sorry its been awhile. We were very busy over the holiday, it being Brewer's first Christmas we had a lot of people to visit.

I did a little card making but most of it was at Scrapping Great Deals at their Copic Class with Andrea and Kimmie. Love their classess!!

Andrea right now is giving some blog candy away, so if you haven't checked it out you should.

I'm going to be work on my blog this week, so pictures of some cards are soon to come.

My other big task for this week is to call around about Day care. I have to go back to work in May and I haven't found anything for Brewer yet. If anyone know any good day care places or people let me know.

I will be posting soon, so stay tuned!

HELLO BLOGGING WORLD!!!!

This is my first blog entry, so I wanted to say a big HELLO to the blogging world! I'm new to blogging but I'm not new to crafts. I love all crafts but my favorite is scrapbooking/card making. I just started using copic markers; I took my first class on Sunday at Scrappin Great Deals and I had a great time! I of course bought my first markers and I'm already signed up for another class. I posted below the cards we made; overall they didn't turn out so bad for my first time. I need to learn to not colour so close to the lines, so they don't bleed.

Just a quick note to check out Andrea's blog page. She is a teacher at Scrappin Great Deals and she just moved her blog from typepad to blogger. She always has some great stuff on her blog, so check it out.
